A key problem with the electric powered trains using overthead wire transmission is the hazard of damaging the power line when a vehicle pantograph becomes worn, damaged or too skewed.

Moreover, manual inspections cannot be done safely withour power isolation.

 

Pantograph Carbon Measuremnt
The MRX Pantograph Carbon Monitoring System (PCMS) was develped to address the need for non-contact, regular inspection of pantogragh head an carbon.
The unique system provides measurements and monitoring information for:
  • Pantograph thickness
  • PantographPitch, Roll and Yaw
  • Local Defects (chips and dips)

 


 

 

 

The system also provides derived information such as:

 

  • Wear rates
  • Wear Trends
  • Visual warnings and alarms for measurements that are out of range.
