Current Collector Monitoring

 

 

In electric trains, the correct operation of the current collecting components such as pantographs or third rail collector shoes is an important safety and operational requirement.

Due to the high voltages around these components, regular manual inspections are unsafe, difficult and in most cases power isolation is required prior to conducting any inspection.

MRX has developed products for the automatic inspection of pantograph and collector shoes in electric vehicles. These products use non contact inspection methods and provide visual as well as measurement data for wearing parts.

Our solutions and systems can minimise the risk for rail traffic delays, infrastructure damage and eliminate personnel safety risks associated with manual inspections.
